Perhaps it's the devil working through me at this moment but I feel compelled to speak. As I understand it the early church had to celebrate on the 25th because the early Christians could not be stopped from worshipping pagan gods.
They even incorporated pagan traditions into a holiday solely meant for Jesus which many use even unto this day (holly, mistletoe, Yule logs, and wassail bowls).
It was on the History Channel, I believe. A reputable source by all accounts.
Then again--
Who knows? I could be misguided. Perhaps I mistook Satanic lies and propaganda for 'Truth'...?
