Do the words clockwork waxwork help at all?
You do raise a point though which has been troubling me. Looking back not so long ago to the days of flower power and over the next few decades we have the following names.
Kennedy
Johnson
Nixon
Ford
Carter
Reagan
Bush
Clinton
Bush
Obama (not sure what it means but at least you can pronounce it)
Trump
Eleven sensible names, easy to understand, names we're comfortable with whose owners are unlikely to start spouting Dostoyevsky or Florian Znaniecki.
Did someone decide to wheel out people with unpronounceable names on purpose? "What culture do they represent?" foreign leaders would be entitled to wonder when shaking hands with a Buttigieg or a Klobuchar, even if they could understand their names which seems unlikely. In my experience if you can't pronounce someone's name you can't understand their thoughts. Is this something we'd want representing us on the world stage?
