I must say I don't know what to think of her speech. On one hand, she sounded very articulate. Do we know if she copied her speech verbatim from Michelle Obama
like she did four years ago?
On the other hand, she was born behind the Iron Curtain. People who lived there had each piece of writing scrutinized by a state office of censure, where bureaucrats decided whether the writing fell within the party line and how to change it accordingly if it didn't. So people were finding creative ways of writing "between the lines." I hope Melania was not sending subversive "between the lines" messages when she talked about the positive side of immigration, about suffering caused by covid, about racial inequalities, and about negativity in politics.
I don't like that thought. Her military outfit might be a message about Donnie's plans for the next decade or two, and we do not want these plans being discussed by the public
before the election!
