It is so great of you, Brother Worthington, to raise important intellectual questions like this one. We cannot fully understand our dear Savior unless we can place Him in the proper context of our times.
This is a difficult question because His heart must truly have been with the Bible Belt and white people. Yet, I believe I am correct in recalling the first Baptist churches were in what is now New England. This would have been, and remains, the only Christ-centered denomination.
It just seems like he would have been first in the New England area and the gone south to support white people there.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.
