then
why not just worship rats, do hashish orgies, work as a temple prostitute and sacrifice babies to the ayahuasca cannibal?
You can see how far I got through that video clip. Because where does The Bible fit into all this? It's the only record we have of Jesus, the only account of His words, so if someone makes up a special magic Jesus who rejects the laws endorsed in the New Testament and who "loves everybody" so that everyone "gets to go to heaven" what source are they using to decide that?
Plenty of people reject Christ so why not say
Huitzilopochtli loves everyone. or maybe
the moon loves everyone. but that seems a pretty rotten sort of love if you have to grovel on the floor and run around doing murder so maybe
Saturn loves everyone. comes with better options. The Saturnalia to look forward to every year and maybe a mini-saturn-orgy every Saturday?
Biblical standards are described
BY GOD because they are
NOT standards we could come up with for ourselves. As soon as Adam and Eve had eaten of the tree, whereof God commanded them that they should not eat, the perfect living blood of Christ—born as a baby to grow and be tortured to death for us—became necessary. Christians accept this because God has told us. Moon worshippers, ayahuasca cannibals and rat aficionados do not. In some cases they deny Christ outright.
Whatever this Paula character thinks up (even if he can find some words in The Bible seeming to support his crackpotitude) if it contradicts God it is wrong. Simple as that. After all, by reading The Bible selectively one may decide There Is No God. It's in there. Here's the page:
But that's not
ALL it says. There's
MORE and by reading passages in context we see what The Bible really teaches. Then we can be certain.
Otherwise you'd end up in la-la land, examples of which abound in this thread.
