Does anyone know if portable internet access has increased the amount of people paying attention to news and current events? Current Events has gotten more entertaining, there are many comedy shows dedicated to it. When I was young only nerds knew anything beyond the President's name. Those nerds would have all been male.
I miss those days, and will instantly pledge my allegiance to the first politician who wears a hat reading
"Make Politics Boring Again".
Traditional media is also becoming feminized, it's targeting women now.
In the past, it was agreed that ladies were not worry their pretty little heads with the corrupting and sordid world of politics and current events.
The News was for men, which means it was like an action movie. Lots of explosions and violence and epic stories of raw power.
As things got feminized "
human interest" stories started showing up. "
Human interest" meant "
female interest", as if men are not human.
Now
The News is clucking henparty of
gossip, high society scandal, emotionalism, social conformism enforcement, and etiquette policing/high society shibboleth fads. Female numerical illiteracy means nobody can prioritize any more - one bumtouch on campus outweighs the doubling of the crime-rate in entire European nations because "math is tough".
Heck, next time you're tempted to watch CNN, how about you just put this video on loop:
