Can archbishops read?

Ephesians 1:3-9 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself

Christians are acceptable to God because of Christ's blood.

So, how does that work? Surely an archbishop ought to know, the mystery of God's will having been made known unto him. And surely an archbishop could explain what God has presented, recorded for us in The Bible, helping us to understand? Just say someone couldn't read but looked to their bishop for guidance (assuming bishops speak to illiterates) and had trouble grasping the concept. Why is blood necessary for Redemption?

Hebrews 9:22 ..almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Well, I'd known that from early childhood, Hebrews being the second book I read straight through after Isaiah; how would a clergyman explain this detail? My contact with bishops has been very limited and they give me funny looks with responses amounting to "Oogle boogle floogle gloogle" (unless they'd stopped being Anglicans) and anyway I can read so unless there was a question not covered in The Bible there wouldn't be much point speaking to any of them.

WHY DO WE STILL NEED CHRIST'S BLOOD?

I don't know about Canterbury, presumably he's read The Bible at some stage, but for me this is not a question worth asking. The necessity is spelled out in Hebrews referring back to Moses who had it at first hand from God! It's in The Old Testament and the requirement still exists: if it were not so we could simply be Redeemed without claiming anyone's blood but that is not the world we live in.

Exodus 23:1, 27-28; 24:4-10 Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness ... I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee. And I will send hornets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee ... And Moses wrote all the words of the LORD, and rose up early in the morning, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars, according to the twelve tribes of Israel. And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD. And Moses took half of the blood, and put it in basons; and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient. And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words. Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: and they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.

Apologies for the heavy handed use of yellow but there could be an archbishop reading. Clearly whatever was going on in Moses' day still applies today. God required blood then. God requires blood now. Instead of claiming the blood of bulls and goats Hebrews 9:11-15 the Christian claims the blood of Christ but it's the same God and He still requires blood for His promise to be enacted. What else has God promised?

Psalm 103:2-3 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases
