Thank you for the distinction. Sometimes words change over time, quite rapidly when demagoguery is involved. There was mention of a couple of terms in earlier posts but no entries of their own.
identify
This seems expected to cause 3rd parties to see the 1st party in the same way they see themselves. Friends, whom you've advised already, are 2nd parties here so a 3rd party [me, for instance] magically now sees the group "correctly" and will adjust language appropriately. This seems to reverse the usual usual sequence of identification.
EXAMPLE 1
What is that over there? [a bird] [a plane] [a rock] [a potato] Identifying the object involves walking closer and applying specific tests. Does it have feathers? [no] Does it have wings? [no] Can I cut it? [no] Must be a rock. Obviously there'd been other categories eliminated [hot air balloon] [atomic bomb] [worm] at an early stage so we're choosing from a limited range of options in this example. The point is that identification starts with the observer and flows outwards. The object does not
identify itself and transmit by telepathy.
EXAMPLE 2
As we saw, above, information is necessary to
identify an object. If the object has language, it could announce information about itself but until that happened there'd be no way to discern how it chose to
identify itself or if it cared how others perceived it to be. Travel between different exotic (or tedious) locations reveals a wide range of perceptions! How I'm referred to is a matter of supreme indifference to me. "
Identify" in the woke paradigm however is the primum mobile within which all other offences live and move and have their being, whether they've told you or not, whether telepathic beams are being transmitted or not and whether you care or not. And in this case, I don't.
phobic
Being in a generous mood, I'll allow 3 types of
-phobic. One concerns minerals. A good example would be over-dry soil; when watered by your watering can the water just runs off [left] or pools in a little hollow [right] and won't soak in. This type of soil is hydro
phobic. Most gardeners will have seen this and know how to fix it.
This can also refer to an irrational fear – or perhaps in the case of spiders, snakes, man-eating tigers and so on an excessive degree of fear. Any of Cain's children not having this fear would be well & truly out of the breeding stock by Noah's day and although not everyone is arachno
phobic, most people have a sense of caution. Same with snakes and tigers. The 3rd type is what happens to dogs when they get rabies. Hydrophobia is one of the symptoms and was sometimes used as a name for the disease.
In bizarro land however, this word has some other meaning altogether. It's never explained what that meaning is and the residents there never adjust their use of language to accommodate me (actually that would be NOT adjusting language at all but simply going with common usage from the time of Henry VIII or earlier) while taking umbrage if I don't use a reinvented usage to accommodate them. Even if the telepathy failed and I don't know how they identify in the first place.
These 2 words have appeared before but not under their own entry.
