If this weren't so laughable, I'd want to cry. Billions of people across the globe practice martial arts as part of their quest for spiritual development. Those who follow the true karate (or kung fu or tae kwon do or any other martial art) believe in peace, both inner peace and nonviolence toward those around them. Fighting when not forced to fight to defend one's self or others is anathema to them.

My Unitarian-Universalist church sponsors ju-jitsu and tai-chi classes for our children, teens, and adults (we also have yoga classes and various other athletic programs). Nobody forces anyone to follow a particular set of beliefs in these classes or anywhere else in our church, outside respect for yourself, your sensei (teacher), your classmates, and all of mankind. It is one more way for us to grow in confidence, in fellowship, and in the understanding of our own bodies.

The martial arts are self-improvement, not sin. Even Sudoku.

Let's see how long it takes for some Landover weenie to say something about "joo-jitsu." They are so predictable.

...as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:12-14 (emphasis mine)
