Three's Company
I remember back in the late 1970's when this first aired, I led a church boycott of this show. The show was so seedy and sinful I can't believe the network censors would allow it on the air.
- The premise is a single man living with two single women. The innuendo for menage d'trois was a constant subtext to the show.
- Jack Tripper (John Ritter) pretended he was gay so he could live in the house.
- The network thought having an uptight Jew landlord was too much so they replaced him with a flamboyantly queer Mr. Furley played by Don Knotts.
- They had a Jew-froed next door neighbor named Larry that had a permanent hard-on and tried to fornicate with every woman on the show.
- The show took place in Santa Monica, CA a very large gay community.
- The theme song sounded like it came straight from a porno movie with the "wah wah" guitars.
- Suzanne Somers often wore revealing outfits that highlighted her bouncy bosoms.
- Jack was constantly wearing out the blondes through excessive sexual satyrism, that the show when through Three actresses for the ditzy blond role.
- Etc.
