I can understand how some people might think that in light of John 10:17-18.
John 10:17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
John10:18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
You have to be so careful what you believe. One small misunderstanding can send you straight to hell.
I suppose we could also add to your list
SALVATION BY BELIEVING IN JESUS.
Salvation is
not by believing in things or in doctrine but by believing in the person of Jesus Christ. There's the old favorite –
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
And also –
Second Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
But if that's too hard, there's
SALVATION BY BELIEVING IN THE MIRACLES OF JESUS AND THE DOCTRINE THAT TWO PERSONS OF THE TRINITY ARE ONE.
John 10:38 But...though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
