Just tried it with a baptist preacher. Same results. He wasn't too happy with a steel ball hitting his neck though. And meters aren't flawed. It's a unit of measure just like feet, yards, miles, nautical miles, light years, etc. You can use any unit of measure and the right way to find the circumference of a circle is diameter times pi which is 3.14159.....
