I celebrate St. Dahmer's birthday every year, but only as a man, which he was. It would be inappropriate to pray to him, because this is a blasphemy belonging to the Catholic Church, like all forms of idolatry. We must remember that, despite his absolution in Christ, he was only a man and had sinned as greatly as any of us prior to his salvation. There are only two people who have never sinned as far as I know: my loyal wife, who has never had stirrings for another man, and Christ Himself of course.
Let us all clasp our hands in prayer and rejoice in this miracle of the Lord.
