Why are you asking
us for advice, dear? All the answers you seek are in the Holy Bible:
Proverbs 13:24 - He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
Proverbs 19:18 - Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.
Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:15 - Foolishness [is] bound in the heart of a child; [but] the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
Proverbs 23:13-14
13 Withhold not correction from the child: for [if] thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
Proverbs 29:15 - The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left [to himself] bringeth his mother to shame.
Proverbs 29:17 - Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.
Chastening should not be enjoyable, but is nonetheless necessary:
Hebrews 12:5-11
5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected [us], and we gave [them] reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
10 For they verily for a few days chastened [us] after their own pleasure; but he for [our] profit, that [we] might be partakers of his holiness.
11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
That should teach him to respect and obey you, as commanded by God:
Colossians 3:20 - Children, obey [your] parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
Ephesians 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
1 Timothy 3:4 - One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
I hope that was helpful, dear. You heard it - it is your obligation as the master of the house to keep your children in subjection. You may be inspired by the example of the good, Christian, Lord fearing Turpin family.
