It would be a fine thing to establish a legal precedent that Christians should be allowed an exemption from the law for religious reasons.

A member of my congregation came up with a way to handle such problems. It's the tear-away Velcro seat belt.
You start with your regular seat belt, and cut it in two places. Add Velcro fastener strips to hold it together. You leave it hooked all the time, and just attach the straps when driving.
In an accident, it will be completely useless, so you've made it clear to God that you're only obeying the letter of the secular law, as He commands, but still have complete faith in Him.

Not in many states anymore, Brother Alphonse. Atheists have been working overtime to make faith healing illegal!
There's even an atheist organization called "
Children's Healthcare is a Legal Duty". They hate Jesus, and brag about how they got the Legislature in Oregon to support, unanimously, the elimination of faith-healing exemptions.

When Gov. John Kitzhaber signed House Bill 2721 into law last week, he removed the remnants of Oregon's legal protection for parents who rely solely on faith healing to meet their children's medical needs.
The bill was a response to the Followers of Christ, an Oregon City church with a long history of children dying from treatable medical conditions. It eliminates spiritual treatment as a defense against all homicide charges and subject parents to mandatory sentencing under Oregon's Measure 11.
