For whom?
When under explicit attack from a self-identifying assailant, that is the whole point one's response. As long as they're busy murdering one another they can't spare their attention to murder anyone else. Maybe a lone wolf - that would be the purpose of Christ's assigning a higher priority to weapons than to clothing. Perhaps if you disagree with Jesus you could explain why?
