She didn't do anything intentionally wrong. It was simple foolishness on her part, and the Bible tells us how to deal with the foolishness of children:
Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. - Proverbs 22:15
A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes. -
Proverbs 18:6
A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back. - Proverbs 26:3
Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools. - Proverbs 19:29
Note the last one: when you hit them with the rod, you need to do it hard enough to leave visible marks.
