Am I understanding you correctly that you think it improper to be obsessed with virginity? As you may or may not know, this obsession is merely our imperfect attempt to mimic God's apparent obsession with the sexual behavior of people of all kinds. God Himself clearly calls out sexual sins as some of the most worst:

Sexual relations are tantamount to walking into Jesus' Temple and taking a big ol' deuce right on His table. That's hardly behavior we want to encourage, and I suspect you agree with that.
