It is quite clear that this plague was sent by God to ravage His enemies and He is known to have done this many times in the past. The Scriptures reveal that the Lord will always send pestilence among those who hate and mock Him when they grow too numerous, as He did to punish Pharaoh. That is assuming, of course, that He isn't so angry that He sends a shower of fire from the Heavens or possibly an earthquake. The idol worshipers of China and Italy, the Muslims in Iran, godless Yankees in New York and degenerate Voodoo practitioners in New Orleans have all felt His lash. And He continues the purge.
