It's a pretty simple sequence. Firstly, demons take possession. Secondly, demonic comportment. It's an attempt to stand above God. He told us how to live but sodomy places itself above God's standard. "That doesn't apply to us;" the sodomite community has no alternative but to think this and when free choice to acknowledge God has been taken away, demonic activity is certain.
