Default Christians ask - What does my dream mean? - 01-18-2014, 09:19 PM

The Bible speaks often of the Patriarchs having "dreamed unto the like of a great dreamance and within that dream I dreamed..." etc, This cannot all be down to the goats' milk in their coffee going rancid and thus the Patriachs sleeping in the manner you might sleep of you have 2 pounds of Oreos and 3 pints of beer before bed.

Here God is helpful as usual. He discerns two types of dream:

Dreams not from Him but from the idols of household gods misinterpreted by snake-oil salesmen and idiot women:

Zec:10:2: For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.

which are complete garbage and

Dreams from Him that are pure reason and truth:

1Co:2:12: Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
1Co:2:13: Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Now, we all know that as Jesus said, “God moves in a mysterious way, His wonders to perform.” And we know the old saying, “Like father, like son.” And did not Jesus say,

“M't:13:10: And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
M't:13:11: He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
M't:13:12: For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
M't:13:13: Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.”?

Now Jesus never had a dream and never interpreted a dream – He was living The Dream.

So God likewise sends you meaningful dreams that you don’t know the meaning of. Is it then never possible to understand these dreams?

But wait! As Zechariah says, “they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.” Yet you have a shepherd to tell you the meaning of the dream. You have it in the True Christians of Landover who will say whether the dream is a dream from God or a dream from false gods, and, if the former, then a meaning will be given unto you, and if the latter then the demons will be driven out.

So let us move on to a practical example.

The virginal and fragrant Miss Daisy Mae Johnson, long-time fiancée of Pastor Zeke Flint, leader of the congregation of Landover, came to me the other day and was much troubled by a dream she had had.

She described how she dreamed a dream and in the dream the day became hotter and hotter. So hot that her clothes clung uncomfortably to her. She therefore (in the dream) found herself loosening her attire and beginning to perspire. Now, at the same time the air seemed to become thinner and her whole body was covered in a strange (but not unpleasant) moistness. She told me that she lay down on the soft grass almost panting and as she stared at the heavens, she became aware of a large, black stallion breathing near her. The very breath of the stallion seemed to cause a heavy (but not unpleasant) pressure on her body. It seemed to her that the stallion was a stallion of some authority for, although it did not speak, she suddenly felt a power moving up from her legs that filled her entire body.

It was then that the rhythmic rocking started and with each increasingly powerful movement, Miss Johnson became ever more aware of her very soul, and at the same time anxious that the stallion should not ever stop.

Just as she thought there could be no further insight into her own soul and she was repeatedly crying out "Jesus! Oh Jesus!", the thrusting stopped and she tried to speak but found her mouth filled so she could not speak and then warm sweet manna flowed inside her.

The stallion left and she found herself more relaxed than ever before. Shortly thereafter, she awoke, dressed and came round to see me.

Well. The interpretation was obvious: Miss Johnson has long been driving around in an old Ford Taurus. The air-conditioning has failed (hence the heat). The moistness was, indeed sweat that needs no interpretation.

Her laying back is her considering whether it would be better to buy a new car or repair the older one.

The stallion is a sign of power – inspiration from The Lord. The stallion was unknown to her. And Here God seems to be telling her to buy a new, more powerful car (preferably a black one.)

The pressure exerted by the beast is symbolic of the pressure that we all have when taking a decision.

The thrusting motions have two meaning: It is the unsatisfactory state of the engine of the old car that causes it to stutter along the road compared with what God foretold would be the (increasingly pleasurable) sensation of smoothly driving a new car.

Not wishing it to stop was clearly God telling Miss Johnson just how much she would enjoy the new car.

Her trying to speak but being prevented was Jesus who was silencing her objections in the nicest way possible.

And the Manna hardly needs explaining at all – it is the Love of Christ and the Fellowship of the Holy Spirit that is with us all now, and forever.

God had delivered his message.

Miss Johnson was amazed and she now has a new car.

God knew she needed a new car… and He told her.
