So, I simply must ask--where did you get the idea that God created the earth? Were you taught this idea in a science classroom or did this concept come from the Bible?
If I may play Atheist Advocate for a moment [shudder] how can you believe in a God who created the earth using plate tectonics when the Bible never mentions any such mechanics of that nature? (Wait a minute, that's confusing. I don't need to assume the thought process of an atheist, I can just think like a True Christian™. Whew! much better.)
The Bible clearly states that God is never changing. He is Who He always has been and will ever be. His Word is specifically described as never changing.
Regarding the earth--the only major change that it underwent since the time of God's Creation is the Flood. We know this because the Bible tells us this. No other changes in land mass distribution are ever recorded, discussed or posited in the Bible.
Soooo, if you believe that God exists--as told in the Bible--and that He created the world--as told in the Bible--why would you believe in some weird "mutable earth" theory that the Bible never told us about?
If plate tectonics really were a thing that God made use of, don't you think that He would have told us about it in the Bible? Why would He keep something like that from us? It's not like God wants to keep us in the dark.
Psalms 119:105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path
See how nice God is to provide us with light so that we can walk without stumbling? So why are you stumbling into non-Biblical ideas?
It just doesn't make sense for God to create this world and give us His Word to explain this world and then leave out such a big chunk of information in His explanation. That's assuming plate tectonics were real and God used them. . .Which He didn't, since they aren't mentioned in the Bible where God also tells us that He exists.
I hope that clears matters up for you.
