Hi
I'm glad to see you've found another thread and that you're considering what God has provided for us in The Bible. God is Jesus and He included several categories of person we should hate. There is a conspicuous category missing from the list. Can you spot it?
Luke 14:26
[Jesus speaking]
If any man come to me, and hate not
[1] his father
[2] and mother
[3] and wife
[4] and children
[5] and brethren
[6] and sisters
[7] yea, and his own life also
he cannot be my disciple.
I hope my annotations are clear; I'd like to go to number 7 and compare that with another reference you cited (thank you) in an earlier post
linked here from Ephesians, which I find encouraging in these last days.
Ephesians 5:28-30 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
Fortunately we have no need to intrude speculation and opinions here because God is always so clear in His message, the most important message ever. How would you correlate these two passages?
