Islamic claims never quite persuaded them to sign up. Hinduism was equally lacking, despite the flourishing spice trade bringing such doctrines to their notice. Sikhs and Presbyterians, despite certain errors, also have much in common. Astute in business, always happy to listen to what you have to say (and then sell you something) with an emphasis on new ideas enabling them to operate outside idolatrous creeds prevailing at the time. For various reasons, many Scots visited The Punjab and by now plenty of Sikhs have settled in Scotland. And therein lies a problem.
Although by reading The Bible the true nature of God's character may be discerned and errors overcome, any such reading runs up against a background radiation distilled from birth as Punjabi lullabies and whatever's taught in Dingwall Academy these days, masquerading as multicultural studies. The outcome has not been as you hoped. Take a look at this.
First they have to read The Bible but more importantly, second, they have to understand what they read. Under the background radiation of centuries of error (whether rejecting Rome or Mecca seems to make little difference here) the only correction seems to be an agreement to slough of what Truth they had and combine everything else!
The same thing now is happening with Odin and Woden, via the medium of comics, and Thor is just the tip of the iceberg. Soon it will be the whole camel.
