BBC link that the food was actually stinking. Throw it away?
OR. eat it vomit and drop dead. With the possibility of writhing in agony. Hmmmmm, difficult choice. But I'm highlighting something else.

We know what special events can involve when idols are set up and the demons get active. Could it be that even putrid rice seemed OK for some participants compared with other ceremonies going on? Here is a short clip. The brown stuff is ox manure combined with (of all things) peacock feathers so that's cholera and bird flu to go with the demon possession. Yes, even stinking rice could smell good enough to eat.
