Christian women don't get stressed. They trust God and their husbands to provide for their needs.
Phil 4:6-7
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Feeling sad, lonely and scared are normal reactions, however, for individuals who are diagnosed with depression, these feelings tend to be more severe as they persist.

These are normal feelings for the unbeliever, but not for the Christian. And Christian women don't get depression – or any other mental illness.
The unbeliever
knows that she deserves to face the full fierceness of God's wrath.
Rom 1:18-20, 26, 32
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
[. . .]
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
[. . .]
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
As a result, she lives in fear of the day she will meet her Maker.
Heb 2:14-15
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
This causes a lot of psychic tension. The unbelieving woman's ability to deal with this tension will depend on how good she is at "suppressing the truth in unrighteousness". She may turn to prescription meds or promiscuous sex or lesbianism. If she is unable to dull the tension effectively, she will succumb to depression or some other mental illness. Madness is the malady of the unbeliever.
Eccl 9:3b [Y]ea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.
The Christian woman, however, is free from God's judgement and the anxiety associated with the anticipation of it. Her heart is filled with love, and perfect love casts out all fear from her heart.
1 Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
God has renewed her mind so that she can no longer suffer from depression or any other mental illness or unsoundness of mind.
2 Tim 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
She cannot be overwhelmed with sadness, because God has given her unspeakable joy.
1 Pet 1:18 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
The reason more women are suffering from depression and anxiety nowadays is because more of them are damned.
Christianity is on the decline in the US and across the West, along with the God-given institutions of marriage and family.
If women want to be healed of their anxiety and depression they need to be born again. If God reverses the current trend and brings revival, we would see a fall in depression and anxiety rates, I'm certain of it. Women would walk away from their "careers" and return to their kitchens. They would submit to their husbands and make babies. All would be right with the world. I'd like to see more women working out their Salvation with fear and trembling (Phil 2:12).
