305 Jesus asks for childlike abandonment to the providence of our heavenly Father who takes care of his children's smallest needs: "Therefore do not be anxious, saying, "What shall we eat?" or "What shall we drink?". . . Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well."

2115 God can reveal the future to his prophets or to other saints. Still, a sound Christian attitude consists in putting oneself confidently into the hands of Providence for whatever concerns the future, and giving up all unhealthy curiosity about it. Improvidence, however, can constitute a lack of responsibility.
I read the highlighted link in your quote and a couple of other paragraphs caught my eye. Firstly in #305 they claim to have a heavenly Father taking care of his children's smallest needs. Clearly this white elephant has not been taken care of, therefore it is not A NEED. Regardless of who that "father" is—obviously it's not God due to the excessive presence of idols—according to their own blurb whatever IS needed gets provided by abandonment to providence.

Nevertheless, a shepherd does need to maintain the fold. The 99 remaining when The Good Shepherd sought out that 1 lost sheep would not have been secure had the fold been crumbling. I decided to have a look at Time magazine, not a source I'd normally quote but likely to cover this aspect which they did as follows:

http://time.com/4876087/notre-dame-cathedral-is-crumbling/
Quote:
Some 854 years after construction began [Notre Dame] is in dire need of repairs. Centuries of weather have worn away at the stone … Philippe Villeneuve, architect in chief of historic monuments in France [says] “We need to replace the ruined stones. We need to replace the joints with traditional materials. This is going to be extensive.” It will be expensive too, and it’s not at all clear who is prepared to foot the bill. Under France’s strict secular laws, the government owns the cathedral, and the Catholic archdiocese of Paris uses it permanently for free. The priests for years believed the government should pay for repairs, since it owned the building. But under the terms of the government’s agreement, the archdiocese is responsible for Notre Dame’s upkeep, with the Ministry of Culture giving it about €2 million ($2.28 million) a year for that purpose.

There are two points here. Firstly, according its own 2,115th paragraph (in something intended to be child-like in its simplicity) improvidence constitutes a lack of responsibility. When this was addressed by Jesus, in the parable of building houses upon rock rather than sand, clearly the responsible course involved considering future weather events. Not by scrying into crystal balls or muttering over chicken bones. But by building properly. Absolutely consistent with The Good Shepherd.

Regardless of that—papists always disregard The Bible and that's where we read about sheep herding and building maintenance—the freaks actually have a deal with the government! "Will you maintain Notre Dame?" the gov't will have asked. "Yes," the archdiocesan spokesperson must have replied. Otherwise there wouldn't be an agreement.

Matthew 5:37 Let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

The other thing which struck me was this €2,000,000 p.a. Let's assume purchasing power parity at that level due to the materials and methods in this case won't have changed much and builders require the same amount of food and shelter at any time, over 854 years the maintenance deficiency is €1,708,000,000 or $1,947,120,000. If that had been spent the building (like houses built upon rock) would still be intact.

Extorted from desperate parents yearning for their loved ones to be spared (or promoted up from) limbo, purgatory and the like, where did this money go? What was it actually spent on?

Matthew 7:22-27
