Or as God said, Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

There doesn't seem to be much about "giving it all to the poor", just some of it. As it happens I have warehouses filled with stuff that I sell dispose of regularly. From the huge profits, I'm sure some of it must make its way to the poor.

However, I am very cautious. It would be quite wrong to give much to the poor; if they became rich, I would feel guilty that, as wealthy people, they would not be able to enter the Kingdom of Heaven with ease. (The Lord knows half of them can't get off their ass to get a job.)

Also, did not Our Savior Himself say that the poor would always be with us? If we got rid of them, that would be blasphemous.
