Revelation 22:14-16 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
What constitutes an idolator is well enough explained throughout The Old Testament and covers the various forms of catholicism. The orthodoxes. The copts. Blatant idolators, whatever rot they dream up to excuse themselves, right there at the bottom of the list. Sorcerers are pretty much self-explanatory: witchdoctors, astrologists, crystal gazers and the like. Dogs. What does The Bible have to illuminate this category? I checked out Philippians.
Philippians 2:27 – 3:3 For indeed he [Epaphroditus] was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow. I sent him therefore the more carefully, that, when ye see him again, ye may rejoice, and that I may be the less sorrowful. Receive him therefore in the Lord with all gladness; and hold such in reputation: because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me. Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe. Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
That covers your suggestion. I have a feeling there will be more categories at the bottom of this list than the top. There are people in the world who reject God's opinion on such topics, thinking they've made up something better for themselves. But if that were possible why would The Bible ever have been necessary at all? If better value systems can be dreamed up looking at the moon or hatched through observation and measurement and debate, wouldn't The Gospel be a retarding factor? Wouldn't the world have gone backwards as soon as its precepts were implemented on any scale at all? Wouldn't the results of earlier observations, measurements and debates have been lost? Even deliberately destroyed? — In that case there could be no Salvation. And yet in Revelation it's explained how Jesus will return to take His bride, freeing us from plague forever!
Thank you Jesus
