When it came time to make our calendars, the year that was chosen was "A.D." - which stands for "Anno Domini", or year of our Lord. When the modern measurement of time was established, the original "standard" was Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) - some place in England that the British arrogantly established, instead of choosing Nazareth where Jesus was born. I'm certain this pissed off Jesus, and no doubt was instrumental in the fall of the British "empire".
