Thank you for your contribution. I've thought about your comments but got bogged down at the bit where you didn't provide any examples. In order for you to have objections presumably you've read The Bible: it should be easy for you to highlight at least one objection.
Now as I'd hoped was clear in my post, comics are not attracting criticism due to my not having read any. Comic-themed events do attract goth
EMO types and furries which I'm willing to accept as a costume tribute, under the circumstances. [Green Goblin, Fritz The Cat, Booga Mutant Kangaroo, Fluttershy Horse, Pluto (a dog) and so on.]
I have no wish to dress up as a cat myself but at a comic festival fancy dress is almost certain. They might look like furries and some of them may well be furries but generally after a costume party the attire is put away until next year. Or returned to the rental place. So that is understandable, in the same way that an opium eaterą wishing to eat opium˛ is understandable even if one does not eat opium oneself.
This does not apply to goths. E
MOs are
EMO from their first waking moment every day, every week, every month, every year. (So are furries for that matter but this thread is about something else.) God is important enough for comics to produce divine characters, such as this Thor. Readers are attracted to the idea by gurus promoting Thor and I showed you one or two of those. Are you saying I did that because I didn't know Thor or Queen Pantera existed? The god is not real but those two characters are and serve as very effective gurus for cult members. If you think there's a better example of Thor guru, we'd be interested in that for education purposes. And education is what you seem to be proposing.
For comic readers however, the situation is a little different. This character may be the first representation of The Divine they ever see. Is it a positive experience? OP says, “No.” If you have reasons for your contrary opinion, here is where you'd post them. A linkł to the intro page is appended.
