That sounds like witchcraft to me. No chemical reaction cleans better than good old-fashioned elbow-grease.
However in your case, I will recommend that you try combining the cleaning power of ammonia with the whitening power of bleach. Be sure you shut the doors and windows first, turn off the bathroom fan, and place a towel against the bottom of the door.
If you want to be sure you get the full effect, you should duck tape plastic sheeting over the doors, windows, and vents. Be sure you have a full stomach, preferably something spicy.
