It's because there is no such thing as "Black Irish". Sure there are "theories" - like ship wrecked sailors from the Spanish Armada, and Italians from the old Roman Empire - but neither of them would even think of sticking around after encountering the "natives" who were given to strong drink and a beligerant demeanor that prevented them from living in peace with just about anyone.
The latest "theory" is that there were other people there of unknown origin before the Gaelic invaders, but chances are most of them left as well. All "Black Irish" means is that occasionally you find an Irish with black hair - and that could mean almost anything from such a small insufferable population.
Don't get me started with that whole "O'Bama" thing some years ago. About the only thing the Irish share with the nigras is that they all tend to be Democrats - expecting the "government" to do something when your potato crops fail. The Irish IQ is so low it didn't occur to them they could just go fishing.
