Brother V, I have often wondered about where Satan fits in with the ten commandments. Doesn't having an opposing force to GOD'S good grace essentially violate the first commandment (acknowledgement of "other" gods or god-like beings)?

Dearest Triple H,
Satan is not a god, he just has some extraordinary powers. (In theory).
Let's look at references to Satan's whereabouts in the bible (kjv1611).
In Job, he was originally just walking around the earth, until he was called up to heaven. He was later up in heaven in Zechariah.
In the New Testament, he was in the wilderness with Jesus. Later, he possessed Judas for the betrayal of Jesus.
Later, in Revelation, we see that he's bound up in the pit.
So where exactly is he? If he's in the pit, he has no power over you. If the thousand years are over, then he's running around on the earth now, getting ready to be thrown into the lake of fire.
