Ever hear of antimatter? When the Earth began, there was antimatter and matter. Matter and antimatter annihilate each other, becoming vasts amount of energy. Luckily the universe wasn't perfect, and there was slightly more matter than antimatter. This is why we had matter to begin with. This comes from Stephen Hawking by the way.

We have evidence of the Big Bang. The Cosmic Background Radiation is evidence. We have evidence of Entropy. This can also be called chaos in a way. The universe is expanding because of the Big Bang, so this chaos is increasing every moment.
