Luke 24:25-27



Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.



I must admit, I don't fully understand this.



I do understand Jesus is disguised and they don't recognize Him until verse 31. Verse 27 seems to affirm the Trinity as Jesus is speaking of things outside of his own lifetime as a man, but I could be wrong there too.



The major trouble with comprehension I am having is with verse 25.


Who is the fool for believing and why?

Never mind. I have it now.


Because they had not attended to the description of the Messiah by the prophets, nor to His teaching and miracles, as proofs that He alone was the person described he calls them foolish.

I am hesitant to transcribe the Holy Word, but this appears to me to say, “There are idiots out there who do not readily accept the words of the prophets.”

and he told them how He had come to earth.
