couple questions -
07-28-2015, 08:24 PM
Hello all. I have read through several topics on your site and concluded that many posters have a great deal of knowledge and understanding of the bible's teachings. So I have come to ask a couple questions in hopes of an honest respectful answer.
Firstly, I assume that you all believe in the Resurrection of Jesus your lord. I understand this part of the teachings, however I want to know... since he was brought back to life, did he die a second time? And if he did, when and how? And if he did not, is he still around today?
Second, I once without realizing until it was too late started to wash clothes on a Sunday. Can I be forgiven for this sin? Or am I doomed?
Guess I have more than 2 questions, hope that is ok. I often hear GOD referred to as "he". If there is only one GOD, what is the purpose of gender?
One more.. If one were to abide by all and righteously be granted entry to heaven upon death, do they get to choose the form they take? Or must they enter heaven as they left earth? For example, would an old man who is frail and in pain have to spend eternity in that form, or a child of 3 have to live as a child of 3 for all eternity in the afterlife?
Thank you for your consideration, and patience. I cannot get answers from my pastor as he is a closet homer with no knowledge.
Truly,
Mary

Welcome young lady. All new Christians have questions, and all the answers are in the precious Word of God.
Acts1:9-10 "And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Is there filthy sin in your life that makes you avoid the Holy Bible like a negro avoids swimming pools? Sexual sin? Are you looking for the easy way out? To justify wickedness and still claim to be a Christian woman? You know, Jesus will not be fooled, and neither will we.
Tell us all about why you are really seeking Him. We are here to help!
In Christ
Matthew 19:14 "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

I´m not a Christian but I reckon the Christians believe He went to Heaven on the second trip.

Some say cleanliness is next to Godliness. Not bathing and wearing unwashed clothes probably won´t make any friends I´d Imagine.
Jeremiah 6:21 Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.
Best wishes for the people in Ukraine.

They've never read the Bible.
Matthew 15:19-20 " 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man."

Hello Didymus,
That seems a tad unsanitary but if it is written in the Bible it must be right for the Christians according to Christ and God.
Jeremiah 6:21 Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.

This is actually a theological issue which I find very interesting. Before one starts talking about it, however, two things need to be defined. 1, what qualifies as work and 2, what qualifies as the Sabbath. These are the two areas where ambiguity can arise with the issue of working on Sunday.
I'll start with what the Sabbath is. Originally, the Sabbath day is Saturday however in more specific Christian tradition it is a Sunday. The Bible itself merely describes it as the seventh day which could be any day because the Bible doesn't give us the days of the week. Therefore, the most logical definition of a Sabbath day would be any day dedicated to God which is a personal choice.
Now, in terms of what work is somebody could call washing clothing work. Then again, someone could call leading a church service work. I believe that in the case of what counts as work it's really to do with motivation. Washing clothing could be seen as a service to God by making Christians look like they aren't slobs. The same applies to leading a church service, it is a service to God and therefore does not qualify as work.
Finally, in terms of your forgiveness John 3:16 has the answer.
Whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
So, yeah, if you believe in Jesus you're not going to hell. Whoop whoop.
In response to your other questions, God called himself male so he's male. The purpose of it? That's a whole can full of worms where you can discuss the purpose of gender in general. As for what heaven will be like all we really have is metaphors and a promise that it'll be great.
Finally, if your pastor is in the closet then how do you know he's a homosexual? Did he come out to you? If not you should maybe avoid claiming to know what he experiences.

EXCEPT that "believing in Jesus" means doing what He told you to:
Matthew 7:21 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
ALL of it:
James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."
Now why don't you run along and read the Bible (all of it) before you go claiming to know what any of it means?

Hi sorry I should have introduced myself as requested, how rude of me.
I attend a small congregation up in Canada. Favorite verse: "The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day." from the book of proverbs. I am not married, no sons. The only weapon I own is faith. I came seeking answers to unanswered questions.

Thank you for answering one of my questions. I have only ever been taught from the old testaments and know little of the teachings of Jesus. I do not avoid the Holy Bible, I am in a small community that has its ways. We do not have copies of the Bible you read from. Only recently have I had access to internet to further my studies. As I am 17 and here marriage is not permitted until 18 so I have no sexual sin. I do not wish to fool Jesus, only to know more about him.

Yes one would assume he went to heaven on his second trip.. I was just wondering why he went back, how long did he stick around for before he did, was it of his choice? And I was referring to breaking a commandment not directly referring to clean clothes. It is sin to work the day of Sabbath. We observe Sunday as that day where I live.
Thank you for your reply

I may be somewhat ignorant about all of this, as I am as young in body as my studies however I question that belief in Jesus is enough for salvation. If it were so, then why would the commandments be there?
In regards to the gender issue. It feels to me you have cause and effect mixed up. He would call himself male because he is. Not become male because he called himself so. GOD is eternal and unchanging as stated in the words of the Lord.
I state what I state about my pastor with some certainty. As I grow into the child bearing age I can sense sexuality more and more. It is plain to see how a man regards a woman, how he holds himself as a man, his preference. Of course there is a culmination of experience that leads me to this conclusion, a depth I do not need to get into here.
Thank you for your thoughtful advice and answers!

Hello rather bland and almost homely Commie Canooktress, and welcome to God's favorite forum.
1. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ascended into heaven physically. His body was missing from his tomb (absolute proof of His resurrection as well!) and Thomas was able to touch Him physically.
B. Technically, God leaves it to we puny mortals to put to death those who work on the Sabbath as per Exodus 31:15. Seeing as you are from a Godless, Communist state, no doubt your lawmakers wipe their nethers with those Hallowed rules, so you are safe for the moment. God might be willing to forgive you if you repent, embrace Him and His Loving Rules, and tithe regularly and generously to one of His favorite churches.
C. God is male because God is perfect, and the male form was created in His image. Really now, what kind of a perfect God would go around oozing unclean issues every month?
4. 1 Corinthians 15:35-49 explains to us that God will bestow upon His Chosen Few a heavenly body which is different from our earthly body. An imperishable, glorious, powerful body. Presumably then, the few women who manage to slip through the gates will no longer have unclean episodes-and will likely be without vocal chords.
I hope this answers your questions and helps guide you toward the Light that is Jesus Christ. God bless!

To some degree yes, you have answered my questions. Some clarification if you please?
1. All but one of the many Pharoes were missing from their tombs as well. Proof they ascended to Heaven in physical form? I dare say no. Grave robbing was a very lucrative industry in days past. I am not saying it did not happen as you say, but a missing body is hardly proof of what you claim. Why did he ascend to Heaven? How long did he stay after his Resurrection until this time? We could surely still use his guidance here.
B. Should I sacrifice a lamb as the Lord states I must in testaments of old? Or does the new testaments (I have not read) state this is not required anymore?
C. I was thinking perhaps our all powerful Lord who stands alone in this greatness may perhaps be gender less, not female. For what is the need of sex organs if there are none like you in opposite (man to woman) to engage with?
4. Indeed. Thank you for your clarification there, no more need be said.

That was covetous Egypt where people were buried with wealth. Jesus rebuffed material wealth, His possessions being kept in a Divine security deposit box in heaven. Therefore no profit was to be made from robbing His tomb.

Herd animals were essentially currency back then, so it is appropriate to substitute American currency in place of goats. And the New Testament only saw Jesus cast aside a few dietary requirements for the most part, not the common false claim of His abolishing all of the law. False Christians ignore Jesus' multiple clarifications of this in Matthew 5:18-19, John 7:19, & Luke 16:17

Deuteronomy 23:1 explains that those with missing or damaged genitals cannot enter heaven. Therefore God cannot be smooth as a Ken doll down there.
