Of course I am. The imagination of humanity is endless. The bible is fiction, plain and simple, and there's no way you can prove otherwise.

The burden of proof is on the one who is making the claim, and you can't prove a negative. Therefore there is a God and Jesus is His Son. QED.

So according to you, based on nothing but your own opinion, God doesn't exist and every Christian ever has been deluded and led up the garden path by story-tellers?
Wow! You really don't muck about when it comes to getting yourself sent to Hell.
Mark 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
Luke 12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

No, I can't, but you can't prove that he exists. I believe we're at an impasse.

Not my own opinion. Millions of people agree with me. And pretty much. People want to believe in something, they want to think that life isn't just random chance. That is why god exists. To give humanity something to hold onto.

God has told you He exists, made you and given you an instruction book on how to please Him but you still want more.

Yeah, it sure got their attention... They died because they were being kids.

Oh, but God was making a lesson out of those naughty children. Christian children today have grown up knowing the stories about the mighty Hand of our LORD. Stories of God teaching lessons for our sake today are peppered throughout the Bible and our Christian children are blessed to know them all. They know the Israelites suffered slavery for 400 years to teach us all the importance of knowing how to live by grace and not by law. They know the proud soldier who dared touch the ark of the covenant died instantaneously so we know not to try to rise above our station. They know God killed David's son to teach us a lesson about the evils of adultery. These things God teach for our own good so that we can live forever with Him in Heaven and sing his praises again and again and again. God loves us so very much, and he loves you too, friend. He wants very much for you to open your heart to Him and learn to obey. It's for your own good, and you'll be happier, besides.
In fact, you can help by contributing to mission causes that help translate the precious Bible into native languages so the poor burdened waif in these desolate lands don't have to go to Hell because no one shared the Greatest Story Every Told! Oh it makes me tear up a little to think of those poor children who will die without knowing how to confess to Jesus of their sins so that He can scoop them up into His bosom and love them forever. But you can help. Don't let these stories go to waste. You can help by donating to Landover Baptist Church so our own missionaries can bring Third World children precious Bibles to read! Oh think of the joy on their faces when they look up with their eyes, hungry for the Truth, and see a shiny new BIBLE just for them! Think of their joy when they learn they too can escape Hell! Oh, don't you see, it's just so wonderful to know these stories in the Old Testament so we can keep to the straight and righteous path! God used those boys' evil ways to teach you a lesson so you too can confess your sins and go to Heaven forever!
Praise Jesus!

I sure hope that's not true. Heaven sounds pretty damn awful. And I did believe in god, once upon a time, and I wasn't any happier, in fact, it was the worst time of my life.

Hi, Retard!
Care to try again? Most Bibles aren't sold, but given away.
http://agards-bible-timeline.com/q10_bible-facts.html
According to statistics from Wycliffe International, the Society of
Gideons, and the International Bible Society, the number of new Bibles that are sold, given away, or otherwise distributed in the United States is about 168,000 per day.
How about this:
Quote:
Calculating how many Bibles are sold in the United States is a virtually impossible task, but a conservative estimate is that in 2005 Americans purchased some twenty-five million Bibles—twice as many as the most recent Harry Potter book. The amount spent annually on Bibles has been put at more than half a billion dollars.
|
Quote:
In some ways, this should not be surprising. According to the Barna Group, an evangelical polling firm, forty-seven per cent of Americans read the Bible every week. But other research has found that ninety-one per cent of American households own at least one Bible—the average household owns four—which means that Bible publishers manage to sell twenty-five million copies a year of a book that almost everybody already has.

So, anyway, Volcanos are clearly made by God to smite people with. What's the point of them without people. Same thing with floods and earthquakes.

You're supposed to believe because:
The heavens declare the glory of God;
and the firmament sheweth his handywork." (Psalm 19:1) You would read the Word of God so you can know Him, know His Will for your life, so you too can have everlasting life. For it is written,
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:
and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life;
but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36)

No, they're not clearly made to smite people. In fact, they're there because of a little thing called tectonic plates converge or diverge and form mountains, and volcanoes, which you'd have heard of if you looked away from your precious Bible.

In fact, Brother, I was just sharing this lesson with my children for school. We looked at all the volcanoes and earthquakes on earth, we prayed for the people whose sin brought them on, and we looked at photos of the moon and my youngest child said,
"But Mommy, there are no volcanoes on the moon!"
We all noted how very perceptive he is and my oldest son then asked him why he thinks this is so (he's reaching the age where he knows he should be taking on the responsibility of teaching theology in the home, as a young man should). My youngest scratched his sweet little head and his eyes lit up and he exclaimed,
"There are no people on the moon!"
We had a lovely discussion about how God loves us so much that he would send such signs and wonders to turn us from our wicked ways but that's not necessary on the moon for there are no sinners there!

Well of course, silly! God lovingly placed those tectonic plates in place because He lives outside of time, He knows who will need correction and when! Isn't it beautiful? I am in awe of how He works.

Obviously there are no people on the moon because they wouldn't fit and they'd fall off but your kids are so cute with the way their brains are making the connections when not corrupted by secular propaganda.
Mary, you are an inspiration to all parents.

This person thinks the Earth is some sort of beast and "evolves." He's clearly part of some Gaia cult.
Take heart that your children are smarter than him, Mary. Top job drawing out his true colours.

The earth evolves in it's own way. It isn't the same as it was 1 million years ago. It won't be the same as it is now in another million years.

Leaving aside your heresy about millions of years...
Change is not evolution. I don't think you actually understand the word. Evolution means change from one less complex form into a more complex/advanced one.
You really should get your facts right before trying to sound clever and blind us poor hicks with your science.

Re: Volcanos and Earthquakes - yet more proof God created the world for Man -

How about the constant raging storm on Jupiter?
There are no people on Jupiter, conditions are so harsh that no one could live there, where's the sin on jupiter at?
As for the moon, no volcanoes no, but it's been hit by terrible asteroids over the years, is that no God's wrath?
I guess if it happened on Earth then it would be, on the Moon, I guess anything's possible with Jesus huh
Please don't say something crazy like Jupiter doesn't exist, that's what I'm expecting ;-)
Well, I guess it would be kind of funny if you did say that.
Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done
abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
