Amen, Brother Heathen! America is not a democracy, but rather a republic. That's just one more good reason why everyone should vote for Republicans and not Democracyrats. Our Founding Fathers understood that, and that's why all of them - George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Ronald Reagan - were all Republicans.
This isn't to say that all Democrats are bad. Indeed, we've got most of the important ones on our payroll already. Some, like our puppet Lieberman, even endorsed Bush for president! However, it still makes me feel uncomfortable to hear the Dems talking about raising the minimum wage, higher taxes for rich people, and actually doing something about global warming. This is dangerous talk - treasonous really - and in our capitalistic society, it should be banned, in order to protect our precious freedoms.
Bipartisanship: Some Dems can be reasoned with
Of course, "spreading democracy and freedom" does make for a good slogan - that's why Karl Rove put that in President Bush's teleprompter when he was making his speech justifying our war for oil in Iraq. Not that we ever intended to give the Iraqis (or Americans) either democracy or freedom - just the illusion of it.
Creating the illusion of democracy is certainly a great way to fire up the Tea Partiers so that they'll vote for their corporate masters who are going to steal their Social Security and Medicare after 2012. Seems like all you've got to do to get their votes is wave the flag, chant "USA, USA..." and tell them that you're going to take away their rights to an abortion and birth control, and wiretap their phones without a warrant, all in the name of "small government." It's a sure winner.
Here at Corporate Central, we CEOs have discussed the possibility of doing away with the elections charade after 2012 (when we install our puppet Sarah Palin as president). After all, elections are expensive. On the other hand, we know that the public wants bread and circuses, and since we're going to take away the bread, we at least ought to let them have their circuses. Makes it so much easier to control the herd, if you know what I mean.
Tea Party rally
My personal opinion is that after 2012, we should continue to hold elections, but make voters pay for the privilege of voting, in order to offset the expense of the phony elections. This whole idea that voting is a "right" needs to reworked. Voting is a "privilege," and I think a cool $100 per ballot is more than fair. As they say, "Freedom isn't free."
