Nigeria bans homosexuality! -

10 years in prison for ‘any person who … directly or indirectly makes public show of same-sex amorous relationships,’ 10 years for aiding same-sex unions
By Ola Awoniyi
ABUJA — Nigeria’s senate passed a bill on Tuesday outlawing same-sex marriages in Africa’s most populous country as well as banning public displays of affection between homosexual couples.
Approval of the bill, which must still be voted on by the House of Representatives and signed by President Goodluck Jonathan, came after debate that saw one lawmaker go as far as to suggest that offenders be killed.
The bill spells out a 14-year jail term for anyone entering into same-sex marriage or civil union.
Those who abet or aid such unions could receive 10 years, as would “any person who registers, operates or participates in gay clubs, societies and organizations” — a provision that seems to target gay advocacy groups as well.
The bill also sets out a 10-year sentence for “any person who … directly or indirectly makes public show of same-sex amorous relationships.”
Global rights watchdog Amnesty International director of the Africa Program, Erwin van der Borght, slammed the bill as “reprehensible,” saying in a statement that it “threatens the human rights of a large number of people”.
“If passed, this measure would target people on the basis of their identity, not merely their behaviour, and put a wide range of people at risk of criminal sanctions for exercising basic rights and opposing discrimination based purely on a person’s actual or presumed sexual orientation or gender identity,” he said.
British Prime Minister David Cameron has warned that his country will consider withholding aid from countries that do not recognize gay rights.
Senate President David Mark said during debate on the bill Tuesday that “our values are our values.”
“If there is any country that does not want to give us aid or assistance just because we want to hold on to our values, that country can keep her aid and assistance,” he said.
“No country has the right to interfere in the way we make our own laws, because we don’t interfere in the way others make their own laws.”
Senator Baba-Ahmed Yusuf Datti of the opposition Congress for Progressive Change party said during debate, in an apparent reference to same-sex couples violating the proposed law, that “such elements should be killed”.
During a public hearing last month, gay activists staged a protest outside parliament calling for the bill to be dropped, saying it infringed on their fundamental human rights.
It was unclear why lawmakers decided a ban was necessary, with gay marriage not known to be prevalent in Nigeria and homosexuals already harshly discriminated against.
The west African nation is strongly religious, roughly divided between a mainly Muslim north and predominately Christian south. Islamic Sharia law is in place in 12 northern states, though it is selectively enforced.
On Tuesday, one rights activist called the bill a waste of time in a country lacking even the most basic infrastructure, including adequate electricity, despite Nigeria’s status as Africa’s largest oil producer.
“I can’t recall a particular place where this type of marriage has taken place in Nigeria,” said Adetokunbo Mumuni, director of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project.
“This particular thing they have assented to is a thing of no substance to Nigeria. They should focus on things that affect the majority of Nigerians.”
South Africa is the only African country that allows same-sex marriage, but violence against openly gay people is common.

Thank you Africa for standing up for traditional marriage!

They ban mo-mo's but not a word about lazy, flappy lipped darkies hanging out on the porch smoking crack and harrassing white women. What a step forward.

And not a word from Rick Santorum saying he'd support a ban on homosexuality. Why? Because Papists require it as a "rite of passage"!
How could he deprive his young boys the experience of being repeatedly raped by whatever Father Feelgood he leaves them with? It's one of the sacraments, no?
Bible boring? Nonsense!

Can we take anything seriously from a country named after the watery bowel movements of darkies?

(Sigh) If only it were really possible to truly ban homosexuality.
In actually, they can only make it dangerously illegal-- which is a sound practice, don't get me wrong. But the only real way to stomp it out is for Jesus to cleanse the heart and colon of the sinners.
The only problem that I can see with these legal mandates is that it gives the governments and officials involved the deluded idea that they have any real power over sin and Satan.
Only Jesus' sanctifying blood and a life of strict Biblical adherence can really remove the scourge of homosexuality. Scourging homosexuals outside the perview of God's rightgeous wrath is wrong. The people doing it are only operating from their own self-interest.
Only when True Believers act in accordance with God's Holy Will is any given action right and just. Human judgments are an illusion and an offense to the Lord.
Comfortably Yours,
Handmaiden

If we can get a Godly Christian elected into the Whitehouse we could. All we need to do is toss out that pesky old secular U.S. Constitution and replace it with the King James Bible! When God's Holy Word becomes the law of the land, there will be no more fags, no baby killers, no midgets, no atheists...oh sweet JESUS I could go on....I live for the day.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:
Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

I was really pulling for David Duke in '12--what happened?
Possible 2012 presidential campaign
Duke has claimed that thousands of Tea Party movement activists have urged him to run for president in 2012[149] and he is seriously considering entering the Republican Party primaries.[150] Duke has also released a video detailing his platform.[151] In the video pledges that as president he would stop all immigration to the US, including legal immigration, and says that he "will not let Israel or any nation dictate our foreign policy".[152] Duke claimed that he would be "willing to risk life and limb, endure the barbs of the media” to mount "the most honest campaign for president since the time of our Founding Fathers".[153]

But, Pastor, what if the laws are passed and we can't stone them all quickly enough? And what about the ones who don't get caught?
If someone even thinks homosexual thoughts, it is a sin. But how can we know what people are thinking?
We can pass laws, and we can punish those who disobey. But can we force people to obey the Lord and love their state of obediance? Because Jesus is wounded by those who don't love Him. That's why He wants to be accepted by everyone . . . isn't it?
Joyfully, Obediantly, HIS,
Handmaiden

As they banned homosexuality i would say so yes, and they have even elected Christian leaders with civilized names such as David Mark, and not some Kuntakinte Ooogabooga, the northern part of the country still remains muslim unfortuently, i hope the Christians in the south will invade the muslim north and force them to convert to Christianity.
Anyone noticed that south often is Christian/Capitalist, while north often is atheist/muslim/heathen/communism?
Southern USA = Christian/Capitalist
Northern USA = atheist
South Sudan = Christian
Northern Sudan = muslim
Southern Nigeria = Christian
Northern Nigeria = muslim
South Korea = Capitalist
North Korea = communist

Where is Sindinavia in the scheme of things? It's been overrun by moslems and turks. It's time for white women to start wearing burqas for protection.

Southern Sweden = muslim
Stockholm (capital) = atheist
Middle interior of Sweden = Christian
Northern Sweden = communist
The Swedish people will get what they deserve. As Christians, we don't want sharia law, racist persecutions of people who are not brown with black hair, poverty and a multilingualist society. But we can endure it, unlike the secular population.
Matt 5:17-20 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven:..."

While I Agree; laws alone wont be enough to stop homers and other evil. We need to start edjucating people again and start it at a very young age but the secular school system wants to instead shove their humanist vaules down our kids throats. Kids need to be tought that homosexuality is a very dangerouse life style choice. Also teach them how to spot queers and the best way to stamp them out. They need a program like DARE but instead about homer edjucation.
