Finally! Hate speech law bans criticism of factory farming -
08-05-2019, 11:34 PM
Boingboing: One of the arguments against hate-speech laws is that once the state starts dividing expression into "allowed" and "prohibited," the "prohibited" category tends to grow...
That's not an argument against them, that's the whole point. Hate speech means "speech I hate", and I hear, see and smell things I hate all the time. As I get older the list of things I hate keeps growing, so of course the law should grow with it.
To watch this in action, have a look at France's proposed "hate speech" laws, which require platforms to remove any "hateful content" within 24 hours...expands the definition of "hateful content" to include: "stigmatizing agricultural activities, breeding or sale of products from agriculture and livestock breeding and inciting acts of intrusion"
I've seen a lot of county music videos in which harlots dance around in wheat fields they were likely trespassing in - clearly " inciting acts of intrusion" in more ways than one. Can't wait to see those videos banned and the harlots treated like the hate criminals they are.
As for the french factory farms, I'm sure once you've seen one cage crammed with snails and frogs, you seen them all. Or when you've imagined one, anyway.
Disagree? By failing to register and debate me, you prove that liberals are factless frauds who only persuade through intimidation. To prove otherwise, debate me!

In the U.S. there have been bans in some states. Chicken farmers lobbied for laws prohibiting filming of workers walking around mass chicken pens picking up the dead ones.
Those filming were often film makers who had gotten jobs under the guise of actually working on the farms. Their real purpose was to spread lies that the farms were cruel to chickens. The dead chickens were recognized for giving their lives that other chickens would live to be slaughtered and marketed. It only right that misrepresentation of the farms was outlawed.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

Brother Jeb, the utterly disgraced former prime minister of England, Theresa May, signed her own resignation warrant way back in June 2017 when she admitted the following:
Quote:
After being asked the “naughtiest” thing she had ever done, Mrs May, who grew up in Sussex, initially seemed at a loss to think of an occasion she had stepped out of line.
"Oh, goodness me. Well, I suppose... gosh. Do you know, I'm not quite sure. I can't think what the naughtiest thing...," she said.
But upon being encouraged by her interviewer, the apparently sheepish PM said: "Well, nobody is ever perfectly behaved, are they? I mean, you know, there are times when... I have to confess, when me and my friend, sort of, used to run through the fields of wheat."
“The farmers weren’t too pleased about that,” she added.
|
I guess she thought she could get away with the crime so many years on? And maybe she could have been excused the wanton destruction of wheat. I'm convinced that it was the offensively ungrammatical "me and my friend ... used to" that was the final straw (if you'll excuse the unintentional play on words there).

It makes sense that insulting factory farms is a hate crime. After all, it was hateful to make mean caricatures of Tojo during WW2. Or mean caricatures of any leader, no matter how bad. The poor subjects of those nations identify with their leaders. They are proud of their nations. To insult their leaders is to insult them.
Well, same thing with the animals in factory farms. In their case it's mostly internalized oppression, hey, being offended is being offended. And animals, because they are more oppressed than me, obviously get offended by exactly what I predict they will be offended by. I don't need to communicate with them to know what they think.
TL,DR: Every time you choose the vegetarian option an offended baby piggie cries into her swill.
Trigger Warning: the text you have just read may have caused: flashbacks to historical oppression, normalization of whiteness, hegemonic hyper-masculinity (if I must say so myself), assumption of genders, species, and/or status as a living being, other problematic sins which are yet to be discovered and outlawed but I should still be (eventually) punished for.
