My friend, Mayor Timmy Mahoney, a few hours north of Freehold in Fargo, ND, called yesterday to see if I had any advice for him. Timmy is an Irish Catholic from the old school. While we're of different branches of the Christian faith we share the conviction each of our cities needs to be run using divine guidance. No compromises.
I'm glad I don't have Mayor Timmy's problem. A woman who calls herself a man has opened a medical practice on Fargo for "trans and LGBTQ patients." I can't imagine what that kind of a "medical" practice that is because those are issues clearly resolved in the Bible. Even the North Dakota legislature is passing bills that will put the Bible in charge of schools and medical care. Timmy was all set to close the practice but realized he has a big problem.
The problem is he is a Catholic and the clinic practicing sin is a Catholic one. In that phony faith the local Bishop runs Catholic hospitals and clinics. The Bishop will tell the Catholic medical places they can't do abortions or sex change surgeries.
So, Mayor Timmy called his Bishop and told him to shut down the sinful clinic. The Bishop got all wishy-washy Timmy said. He didn't want to do anything controversial. I told him to call Rome and have the Vatican shut it down. Timmy thanked me but remained skeptical Catholic higher ups would do anything.
