Where does my eternal soul reside between the time of my death and the Second Coming of Christ? The topic came up at dinner the other night. It was suggested that Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City is the holdover spot for souls awaiting Judgement Day. We reasoned that Port Authority is big enough to hold all the souls-in-transit. Also, the accumulating dead would not be noticed there. Is this correct?

You seem somewhat flippant in your question, sir.

In fact, few yankees are held over for eventual transport to Heaven. Most are sent directly to Hell.

I have not found a church untainted by the abomination of homosex, pedophilia, or allegiance to the root of all evil. I fear that most organized religion has been taken into the breast of Satan and its members are being lead like lambs to the slaughter. I hold the Sabbath sacred, read The Bible, and pray.

Many Bible verses lead me away from sin though I am still a sinner. I would say that Romans 12:2 has special meaning to me. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

I began my walk with Christ when I was in the third grade shortly after several beatings from Catholic nuns.

Friend, all the places there were joo resorts. Now, it is simply a pass thru on the expressway. If it were truly Godly, it would still be going, like Freehold, it would be eternal.

Decent Christians went to Shelter Island, Block Island or some place in Maine.

Brother, what you say of the Catskills is true. I pray for a cleansing-by-fire from The Lord to restore this place to His intended beauty. God has cleansed the Adirondacks, the place I base my name on, at the beginning of the 20th century by burning down the resorts. The area has largely returned to its forever-wild, God-created splendor. He has, however, left the Adirondacks with black flies and mosquitoes as a warning to those who might try to again visit sacrilege upon the place.

I posed my question to an Episcopal minister. Here is the response...

"Well....I can say with great certainty that our souls do not reside in a terminal in NYC prior to the Second Coming. And no, midgets are not demons, lol.

That being said, we do know there is a place where we 'go' (our souls of course) following our earthly, bodily death. We read about it a few weeks ago in the Gospel of Luke, the story of the Rich Man and Lazarus. Lazarus dies and is carried off by angels to the 'Bosom of Abraham' while the rich man went to Hades. One was a place of comfort the other torment, each destined by the way they lived their bodily earthly lives. We are told that there is a great chasm between these two areas, which is not able to be crossed.

Is this our idea of heaven and hell? Perhaps. We do know that eventually all creation is made new in the New Heaven and New Earth.

Again, I don't spend to much time focusing on the Second Advent, or afterlife, because I know that Jesus called us to radical living in this life, and if we don't follow Christ then concerning ourselves with what is to come is a fruitless exercise.

I think we would serve Christ and His Church and thus make this world a better place if we became Disciples of Jesus in the here and now, and just trusting in God's revelation of the New Jerusalem in his own time and his own way."
