Are you guys Catholic or Christian? -
09-17-2020, 01:15 AM
Before I introduce myself, I just wanted to ask you guys a few questions, to see if I'm at the right place.
1. How does your church perform baptisms? Is it by sprinkling babies like the Catholics do? Or is it by three immersions of adults in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost like Christians do?
2. What kind of bread do you guys use for the Lord's Supper? Is it flat, unleavened wafers like the Catholics use? Or is it a loaf of leavened bread like Christians use?
3. Does your church teach that the Holy Ghost proceeds from the Father and the Son, like the Catholics do? Or from the Father alone, as Christians believe?
4. Do you acknowledge the Pope as the successor of Peter and head of your church, like the Catholics do? Or do you reject papal supremacy as an unbiblical and satanic lie?

Hello dear and to our forum!
Um, do you know, what "Baptist" means? Knowing the answer might just answer all of your questions.

Baptist just means that you baptize people. No specification as to how. See my first question.
So I ask once again: Are you guys Catholic Baptists or Christian Baptists?

We here at Landover Baptist Church, God's favorite Church, are Baptist not catholic. We have no ties to the pope or his lies.
-Ps 25:10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
-Ps 33:4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.
-James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Sweetie, instead of asking dumb questions, you could just read our Statement of Faith:
https://www.landoverbaptist.net/inde...ment-of-faith/
You should be pleasantly surprised to discover that we are, in fact, the only Christian Church in the world that follows the Word of God 100% as is, not as fluffy bunny false Christians would like it to be.

No, Baptists do not have a central governing authority, and Baptist beliefs are not completely consistent from one Baptist church to another. However, Baptists do hold some common beliefs among almost all Baptist churches.

Let me make it simple friend, NOT CATHOLIC.
-Ps 25:10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
-Ps 33:4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.

I must say that this is probably the rudest introduction we have seen in some time.

All right so now that you guys sound like you've made it clear you're not Catholics, I will go ahead and introduce myself:
1. I don't go to any church yet, but I'm looking for one to join that actually practices the entire King James Bible, rather than picking and choosing which parts are convenient.
2. My favorite Bible verse is John 15:26
3. I found Jesus when I picked up my King James Bible and read it, cover to cover.

Hebrews 10:22-25 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. We seem to have established what "Baptist" means. Above is a Scripture I've often found helpful; how have you managed to sustain a Christian life without going to any Church yet?
Baptism requires understanding so nothing done in a papist font is baptism, whatever they call it. Sometimes though an Episcopalian (and presumably this may apply to a catholic although I've never heard of it) asks for the use of a Baptist font i.e. large enough to hold more than a head, and sometimes they're accommodated. Where does the word "catholic" come from?

So, Mr. CNC, Mr. Much--who is a depraved, hell-bound sinner (with surprisingly lovely penmanship)--has thrown down the gauntlet before you.
[Can we get a gauntlet emoji going on here? Maybe a whole suit of armor thing? I see an unmet emoji need waiting to be fulfilled.]
How will you respond? Can you discuss the Bible with any meaningful intent and comprehension? That's our measure of a man around here.
His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.

My goodness! This young lady is trying to eat her fritters raw.
How can a person state a position like she is and have nary a clue about religion? She is the sort of person that requires a knife to have a warning label 'SHARP".
At least Bobby-Roy's boy (you know, the one that dove into the pool when there was no water and bumped his head, now walks only in circles) finally has someone dumber than him! I told Bobby-Roy, God does provide.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

My favorite of God's names according to the King James Bible is "Jealous" (Exodus 34:14)
But I am also aware that God has other names like "God Almighty" (Genesis 17:1) and "JEHOVAH" (Exodus 6:3)

I often read The Psalms and number ninety-one would be appropriate to link here. The link goes to the whole Psalm.
Psalm 91:1-2 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

We have to fill out a questionnaire before welcoming a visitor now? Good grief, dear. This isn't a YELP review, it's a church community where we gather to share the Good News that Jesus is LORD and anyone who doesn't agree will be Sparta Kicked into the depths of Hell. And good riddance. Do you want to join us or not?
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

I have my suspicions about this lady. I think she is shopping for a lesbian church.
Young woman, Landover Baptist is not your church.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.
