Messrs Johns Knox & Calvin
[RIGHT] [RIGHT] were clearly not the sorts of person you'd want turning up at parties. Their interpretations of Scripture contravened both Peter and Paul, according to whom no interpretation is necessary because God has made His meaning clear.
PETER
II Peter 1:19-20 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation
PAUL
II Timothy 3:15-16 From a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction [and] for instruction in righteousness
You see, once interpretations are applied to Scripture or other sources are introduced which contradict God or new beliefs are cut from whole cloth where Jesus never did anything and therefore could not be a new Adam (because He was utterly indistinguishable from the first Adam) everything becomes meaningless. At parties, anything goes! Whatever you feel like!! I doubt that Calvin
[PEACH (ABOVE)] would be acting out on the table soused in absinthe but only because he didn't want to do that. And similarly, having yourself stapled to the ceiling so attendees could flick things at you may not have appealed to Knox
[TURQUOISE (ABOVE)] but has nothing to do with either Testament. Neither of them agreed with any pope's interpretation however. Planking remains fashionable in Rome (and at certain types of party) but is clearly blasphemous. Take a look at this:
Perhaps if they acknowledged they were planking to celebrate idols, that would be one thing. But they don't. They say they're adoring Jesus, despite their activity directly contradicting God. I know in London there are a few Strict and Particular Baptist Churches where "planking" is extremely unlikely. Does Westminster Baptist follow similar teaching? Simply rejecting a pope after all does not mean one has accepted Jesus. Here are some more examples of planking.
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Those people up that tree are not enjoying a more abundant life, indeed if they fall out on their head they will probably die. They are idiots. I hope this is not the sort of lying face down you're referring to. Papists do it to worship the pope. Planking aficionados do it because they're mentally deficient. As for the other proponent in her cerise miniskirt, I have no idea what's going on there. What happens here on earth temporarily though, is not the same as what takes place in the World to Come; perhaps you could find a verse about that in connection to what God requires in Heaven?
