Oh, no! I am so sorry to read of this, dear Miss Elle. And, please do forgive me for the delay in responding to your post. I've been away at the cottage (with my sister, Agatha) in the Finger Lakes district, and I have no interwebs connection there.
Well, what can I say, except to assure you that you are very welcome here at
, and that I hope you will reconsider. I hadn't noticed any writings that may have been offensive to you. I should mention that we base our postings on the ever-glorious
; and, it is possible that some references to that blessed Book may have been somewhat upsetting.
Certainly, a scriptural reference to Isaiah 45:7 would be one example:
"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the
do all these
things."
Or, Psalm 137:9 could also be taken offensively by some:
“Happy
shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.”
Those are only two such examples, Dear. Since we follow the Word of the
so closely, and since we do not use watered-down, minced-up versions, sometimes the "meaty" writings of the Book might offend. But, as I'm sure you know, all of these great verses of Holy Scripture are breathed by the
Almighty —
self!
II Timothy 3:16 "
All scripture is given by inspiration of , and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"
Please, do reconsider your decision, Dear, as we would love to have you with us. I was so delighted when I had read that we share a similar background, and I was looking forward to fellowship. May
bless you richly, dear Miss Elle — here, at
.
