There is a lot of sense in this.
Borders as of 1611 (thus referencing the KJV time frame) are bound to be more Godly.
When God inspired King James, He would have spoken to him (i) in a style that he could understand and (ii) obviously having chosen the date perfectly.
A simple look at the map will show that Britain was unchanged - this should apply to Europe too - but back in the day, they were all Catholic and thus determined to defeat God's Plan at any cost.
It is precisely this Catholic, sinful disobedience that has, through Man's iniquity, left Europe in the mess that it is in now.
