Firstly, the Bible is written in straightforward language. If I can just go through the Bible, replacing words I don't like with words I do like, then I can make the Bible say whatever I want it to say.
The Bible isn't a riddle or a mystery to be solved. It is God's Word to man. What use is would it be if we had to guess as to what it means?
Secondly, even if you replace "day" with "phase", the Bible and Darwin still say different things. The order of creation doesn't match the order that evolution says things appear. The Bible tells us that were created before the sun. Plants need sunlight to live. They can go for a day without sunlight, but they can't live for millions of years without it.
The Bible also tells us that plants were created before insects. Flowering plants need insects to pollinate and reproduce. Again, if we are talking actual days, and not millions of years, then this is not a problem. However, it's a huge problem for Darwinism.
There are many more examples like this.
Thirdly, the Biblical creation story doesn't make any sense when you replace "day" with "phase".
Gen 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
If the light is day, and the darkness is night, then do evening and morning make up a 24 hour-long day, or a multi-million year "phase"?

And we don't believe God wrote the bible in ordinarie human language (we believe thinking that is not relegious and against god because than you think that you are as smort as God is, and no-one is)
So what you do is wrong in my religion.
Same with beating your wifes: why think god was so stupid to create poeple that needed to be corrected. Don't you think he is smart enough to create people the way they should be?
You doubt God :s

No, we feel that God deliberately created people who need to be punished as part of His ineffable plan friend. You can have no good with out evil so therefor God created people to be damned so there maybe good people to be saved.

So trusting God's Word to be honest and true is wrong in your religion. That's interesting.
You don't believe that God is capable of leaving His Word to us in a way that is easily understood. You believe that God left His Word to us in a language that no one can understand.
And yet you believe that WE are the ones who "doubt God".

Then why does God TELL us to beat people, and that people need correction?
Prov 23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
Prov 23:14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
Now, I'm waiting for you to tell me that I should replace the word "rod" with "wet noodle".
Face it, Ayeola. You don't believe the Bible. You just believe whatever you want to believe, and dismiss everything in the Bible that doesn't fit.

From Het Boek
Quote:
13Aarzel niet een jongen te straffen; van een pak slaag gaat hij echt niet dood.
|
Do not refrain from punishing a boy; a good thrashing will not kill him.
Quote:
14Door hem af en toe te straffen kunt u hem voor de ondergang behoeden.
|
By beating him occasionally, you can prevent him from going astray.
And this is what is wrong with not using King James Version 1611 – so much is lost in translation by foreigners whose languages are simply short of words.
No wonder you have ended up as a sinner, you have no real Bible to read!

Oh, so the people who wrote your Bible already did the word-replacing for you.
Here is the original Hebrew (over on the right).
Proverbs 23:13-14
In our alphabet,
Mana muwcar na`ar nakah shebet muwth
Nakah shebet natsal nephesh sh'owl
Or literally,
Do not withhold discipline from a child. When you strike him with a rod, he will not die.
Strike him with a rod, and deliver his soul from Hell.
What "Bible" did you say you were reading from, again?

If you share a bed with a man the same way you do it with a woman, it is a sin. You schould both be killed and it will be your own fault.

Yes it is, even in that ghastly Flemish language.
I'll do it in yours.
Dood aan de jeanetten!
I bet you didn't even know your (false) Bible said so. Am I right?
Do you agree that homers should be killed? Or do you see your Bible as "een vodje papier"?

in bible study I learned that in the bible there were parts against gay people, but my teachter explained to me: when the bible whas writen, people believed that the male sperm was limited. So one day you would have an orgasme, but there wouldn't be any sperm any more.
So gay people were just spilling their sperm
But now we know that that isn't true.Sperm isn't limited. our body makes it over and over again.
Plus: relations where there to have children. Not because you love someone, just to have children.
Now it is different. people have relationships because they love eachotherand there are a lot of people who don't want to have kids.
We don't believe in the bible as "the word from all times". We do believe it's old and need to be updated.

Have you been drinking alcohol?
Matthew:
5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled
10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

How would that affect homers? Was your teacher Hans Christian Anderson?

That is true but it is WHERE they spill their sperm that is the abomination!

Having limitless sperm does not excuse homers, who are still an abomination!

You and your hellbound friends may believe anything you like, of course. There are heathens all over the world who live in their own, self centered make believe world. Did you know that the Japs insist that green is blue? Did you know that Scientologists believe that human beings are nothing more than meat puppets controlled by space aliens?
Sure, go ahead and believe that God's Holy Word is imperfect and outdated. Ignore the fact that your belief cannot be substantiated outside of your own childish imagination. Go ahead and ignore what God says in His Revealed Word.
THIS is what that crazy belief will get you.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:
Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)

How do you know what parts of the Bible you can trust, and what parts are outdated? If your own judgment is good enough to tell you which parts of the Bible are good and which parts are bad, then why do you need the Bible at all?
You are already doing what seems right in your own eyes, without regard as to what the Bible says. I doubt you would live your life any differently if you came to believe that God didn't exist at all. So why not quit lying to yourself and to us, and stop calling yourself a Christian? You seem a lot more like a deist or a humanist to me.

well, I wil trie to explain something about my relion. Please don't get angry about spelling mistakes because I still am doing the best I can...
When you are born, you get baptised. That needs to be done within the forst 6 months.
At the age of 3, sunday skool starts till the age of 12. During that period, you don't enter the church exept for a marriage, or when someone dies.
I missed that pat because at that age, I was part of an other religion. At the age of 14 I changed religion.
at the age of 18, you need to be baptised again. BUT: you get 7 years to decide if you want to be baptised again or not. If you aren't at the age of 25, you are kicked out and that's it.
If you do get babtised, you hade one year of bible studie and things you need to do for the community. Than after a year you can be baptised if you did your year ok.
After that, you are obliged to work for your community and you are a full member.
I can get married with someone that isn't babtised. But he can NEVER enter our church.
