I'm sick of people saying that abolishing police departments is rash or unprecedented and that the results are unpredictable.

Actually, leftist paramilitaries have a long and noble tradition. Currently, the industry standard is the system used by Venezuela:

They are associated with extrajudicial killings and terrorizing those who disagree with them...

Human Rights Watch described colectivos as "armed gangs who use violence with impunity" to harass political opponents of the Venezuelan government. Amnesty International calls them "armed pro-government supporters who are tolerated or supported by the authorities". They have attacked anti-government protesters and Venezuelan opposition television staff, sent death threats to journalists, and once tear-gassed the Vatican envoy...

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has described colectivos as "pro-Government armed groups" that "decide who receives government assistance and perform surveillance and intelligence activities for the authorities [and have] intimidated, threatened and attacked people perceived as opposed to the Government".

As of 2013, colectivos ran education initiatives. According to Ennio Cardozo, a professor of political science at the Central University of Venezuela, colectivos "do talks, forums and they indoctrinate very young kids into Marxism. The government finances all this. But if you don't agree with them they will shut you out from most of the social programs until you give allegiance to the (socialist) party."

Law enforcement is one of the very few institutions remaining in this country that the left has not yet controlled. Democrats hate the police because they don't control the police. Very simple.

Defund the police is a move toward authoritarian social control, cloaked in the language of identity politics.

Nothing says socialist paradise quite like armed guards on the street enforcing everyone to smoke pot, write poetry and get gay married. A certain member of your congregation Faith Machine tends to frequent for work cleaning a septic tank? I would take up the job but I am respectfully aware that the young men who work at the police force would be more qualified to “clean pipes”.

I like sound of that - it should be a motto: To Protect and to Serve. Mostly Peaceful.

Of course somebody needs to be elevated into the role of authority, be it the police or criminal gangs. And actually the choice does not matter that much. The important thing is that we give a free pass to somebody else without questioning their motivation. The man with the costume on says "X", therefore "X or are you a subversive? Why do you hate America? Where's your flag pin?". This is basic logic 101.

The "mosh pit" hasn't changed much.

Less police does not mean that there are still lots of police protecting you and the things you care about. Less police means less police.

There is a price to pay for the right to riot. The established unit of payment is police executions per ethnicity per year - preferably by gunshot to the back or knee to the neck. Teh blacks are currently paying around 300 units while teh whites pay 500 units.

In terms of riots per unit paid, whites are paying a far higher price and therefore should expect some premium services; e.g. better trophies, more welcoming security, the chance to kidnap a House Speaker. On balance, the service provided at Capitol Hill was significantly higher than an average BLM riot and warrants the higher per unit cost.
