Menstruation: Turtles & Pigeons -
10-11-2010, 02:16 AM
I was chatting with a friend the other day and the topic of menstruation came up. She told me her priest was no longer accepting turtles or pigeons as described in Leviticus.
I was wondering have any of you other ladies had similar problems.
Would she still be considered unclean because she was unable take two turtles or pigeons to the priest.
Leviticus 15
28 But if she be cleansed of her issue, then she shall number to herself seven days, and after that she shall be clean.
29 And on the eighth day she shall take unto her two turtles, or two young pigeons, and bring them unto the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
30 And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for her before the LORD for the issue of her uncleanness.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
Genesis 24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
Song of Solomon 1:15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.

I thought LBC had pastors, not priests...

We have no issues with this at our church. After unclean time ma and I always bring pigeons in.

In KJV1611, 'priest' is symbolic and generic of any man chosen by God to lead a congregation spiritually. Naturally, it is really specific to Baptists and is reflected in the New Testament's reference to True Christians™ as "sheep". Also:
Pastor (n) mid-13c., "shepherd," also "spiritual guide, shepherd of souls" (late 14c.), from O.Fr. pastur "herdsman, shepherd" (12c.), from L. pastorem (nom. pastor) "shepherd," from pastus, pp. of pascere "to lead to pasture, graze," from PIE base *pa- "to tend, keep, pasture, feed, guard" (see food). The spiritual sense was in Church Latin (cf. Gregory's "Cura Pastoralis"). The verb in the Christian sense is from 1872.
It is shameful that the Anti-Christ, the vicar of Rome, chooses to call his satanic minions, "priests" they are quite the opposite!
And now if we could get back to Turtles and pigeons...
